ACLP marked 25 years of existence at its national conference held in October 2025 at Bingham University, Karu, Nasarawa State, in what the Association describes as a glamorous ceremony. The Association looks forward to its golden jubilee.
Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State
At the first Annual General Meeting, the Society asked Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, to host the conference again in 2001 to consolidate the young Society. The University accepted and hosted it.

The founding national conference of the Society, then the Nigerian Society for Educational Psychologists (NISEP). At the Annual General Meeting held during the conference, the founding officers — Dr. R.U.N. Okonkwo (President), Dr. Romy Okoye (Secretary-General), Dr. Nnamdi Obikeze (Financial Secretary), Dr. A.U. Okoye (Treasurer) and Dr. M.A. Anagbogu (Public Relations Officer) — were confirmed as the first National Officers.
The Association is compiling the record of every conference between 2002 and 2024, with themes, venues and the journal volumes and books of readings that came from them.
The annual national conference and Annual General Meeting is the highlight of the ACLP year.
