Submission guidelines

How to submit conference papers and journal manuscripts to the Association of Child and Learning Psychologists.

Conference papers

  1. Participants attending in person bring 10 hard copies of their papers to the conference venue. Online presenters submit an electronic copy to the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) through a designated email.
  2. Conference papers must address the theme of the conference; otherwise they will not be considered for publication.
  3. Papers presented at the annual conference are submitted to a designated email, provided by the Editor-in-Chief, not later than two weeks after the conference ends. The deadline is communicated clearly.

Manuscripts for the two annual editions

  1. Papers should be a maximum of 15 pages (including references), typed in Times New Roman, 12-point font, double line-spaced, on A4 paper. Papers exceeding this length will be rejected.
  2. The cover page must carry the paper’s title and the author’s full name(s) — first name, middle name or initial, and surname — with status and email address.
  3. The second page carries the title, a 150-word abstract, and keywords at the end.
  4. The body of the paper begins with the title, without the author’s name or contact details.
  5. Manuscripts must be original and must not have been published or submitted elsewhere.
  6. Preference is given to empirical research papers.
  7. Manuscripts are reviewed and contributors are promptly informed of the status of their submission.
  8. Each manuscript must be accompanied by a non-refundable assessment fee at the prevailing rate.

Structure of an empirical paper

The main body should be concise and include:

  1. A brief section with relevant background literature — no separate literature review.
  2. Method: sample size, sampling techniques, instruments (with evidence of reliability and validity), data-collection procedure and methods of data analysis.
  3. Results and Discussion.
  4. Conclusion.
  5. References: every citation in the text must be listed.

Style

  • Follow the current APA style of referencing. Footnotes are not used.
  • Tables and figures should be simple and kept to a minimum.
  • Quotations longer than three lines must be indented.
